lyrics

My crew and I consider ourselves friendly
until faced with inevitable arrogance and envy of rivals
They come in all shapes and sizes
Liable to ask who Dialtone and Zechariah Wise is
Their behavior pattern’s relatively the same
beginning by questioning ancestry that we claim
Skepticism prompts them to triple dog dare with evil stares
But first fill out this questionnaire
Name three old school DJs who spun in the Bronx
Name New York night spots where hip hop once rocked
Name and year of the first rap album you ever purchased
and the year you started rhyming (ay yo sun they’re getting nervous)
I recall Virginia days of old
when I was ridiculed for love, hugs and hip hop soul
Only a handful of neighborhood kids could dig the mission
together we formed the circle Demolition
But now out from the woodwork comes teams of wishful thinkers like they’re different
Practicing an art in which they’re culturally ignorant
No knowledge of history or proper protocol
their motor stalls at the starting line from curvatures in their spine
But Lower Life Forms spent years kicking a hole in the wall
Not so you rookies could desecrate it all
So bring it on then and happened before and will again
you can use my mic baby the invitation’s open

(we didn’t get in here so you can get in with us, at first you didn’t know us, but now it’s like yo put me down, we didn’t get in here so you can get in with us…)

You can use my mic baby the invitation’s open

Invitations have been extended to wanna be emcees
so let’s see how many of them RSVP
to join their brothers in the land of hip hop banishment
now occupying entry level positions in waste management
But still these children try to catch me off guard
I look out my studio and see them in the backyard
So invite each of them in for their own painful lesson
Until they’re leaving awestruck trying to book themselves a session
My impression was we ridded VA of these artistic hoes
’til the flunkies started ending up at our shows
One tried to battle me on stage and finished so embarrassed
He threw a mic at Dialtone so we threw him off the terrace
I guess defeat can cause psychological torment
case an point this one cat must have been glutton for punishment
After his serving he approached with something to prove
as the only one in the building who thought he didn’t lose
Come on baby you must be kidding or you don’t know the half
I watch the tape of your performance when I need a good laugh
Yet still he insisted that he himself was the victor
so we crushed him again and left him sobbing in his liquor
We spent years chipping a hole in the wall
Not so you rookies could ride our backs and desecrate it all
So bring it on then and happened before and will again
you can use my mic baby the invitation’s open

(we didn’t get in here so you can get in with us, at first you didn’t know us, but now it’s like yo put me down, we didn’t get in here so you can get in with us…)

You can use my mic baby the invitation’s open

Special wake up call to all them sucker, so -called emcees in Northern VA and all the kindergartners trying to get their masters degree… Lower Life Forms… Burke Center representers.
